La 93ava edición de los premios de la Academia se llevó a cabo el 25 de abril
La Academia dio a conocer a las cintas ganadoras de los premios Oscar para su edición 93ava. En esta ocasión la ceremonia se llevó a cabo el 25 de abril, después de posponerse unos meses debido a la pandemia de COVID-19. La Academia premió a lo mejor del cine, siendo Netflix la productora/distribuidora que más premios obtuvo al llevarse siete estatuillas.
Por primera vez en la historia, una mujer asiática se llevó el premio a mejor dirección; Yuh-Jung Youn se convirtió en la primera actriz asiática en llevarse el premio a mejor actriz de reparto; y después de 13 años, Emerald Fennell es la primera mujer en llevarse el premio a mejor guion original.
